Why should Mr. J. Lightning have hired me for his licensed toy car, instead of the high-profile superheroes the X-Men? Simple. I would have shown up. When you  hire the X-Men, you expect to get the X-Men. You don't expect that Wolverine would arrive with whatever two non-X-men superheroes (say, Captain America and Black Widow) he could scrape up at the last minute.
